Who will sign during the Winter Meetings? With what team?

Who will the Angels trade for?

Who will the Angels sign? 

It’s been a painfully slow hot stove season.  Hopefully that changes this week. Lets create some discussion.

Who do you think will be the biggest name traded? Soto to Toronto

Who will sign during the Winter Meetings? With what team? Ohtani. Head says Dodgers, heart says Angels.

Who will the Angels trade for? Shane Bieber.

Who will the Angels sign? Candelario.

I like those @Pancake Bear.  For some reason I think we will sign either Stroman or Flaherty and I also see Bieber as a fit.  The biggest name traded will be Soto.  I think the Dodgers will trade for Cease as well.

Guardians really need outfield pop, don’t think they’ve had an outfielder hit more than like 22 HR in a decade or something crazy. Obviously more would be needed but Adell, Ward or Moniak would all be useful there. Thaiss too.

Bieber makes sense and seems more attainable - and risky - than Burnes. Forearm soreness last year I think.

I predict Angel's wait to see where Ohtani signs. If during WM halos move fast if Ohtani does not sign. Teams like Yankees, Mets, ATL, Seattle make big moves as they are not in on Ohtani. WM like early Xmas for baseball fans some even take time off work. This is most wonderful time of the year.

might update it later with more picks, but I think it’ll be fairly quiet. Maybe a run on some more mid-tier SPs and relievers.

I would love to have an off season where we get Hicks and a guy like Neris, along with a trade for Bieber.  Then finish off the roster.

Ok I predict Angel's will sign Michael Lorenzen, trade Matt Thaiss for low level prospect. Blue Jays trade for Juan Soto, ATL trades for Dylan Cease, Dodgers trade for Burnes, Arizona signs JD Martinez.

He’s a 1+1 guy at this point in his career. He will get a one year deal with a club or player option for a second year. Probably 1 year $12 million with an option year of about the same.

Gonna go with my bonkers prediction still that the Mariners acquire Soto and sign Snell. Angels do indeed re-sign Ohtani. Sign Stroman as well.

He was 3.3 war last year and if you can get 1 and option could be a steal.

I'd think Flaherty makes more sense than Stroman, but that might be just me.

Actually, that isn't quite true. 

Apparently it may be another week or even two, depending how credible you find the sources linked (Boob Nightengale says closer to Christmas).

I'm annoyed I find myself more curious what teams like Atlanta, Seattle, and TB might do than the Angels.  I can see Atlanta flipping Kelenic to try to land Cease from Chicago.

Bieber had pitched pretty much like an ace through 2022, low WHIP/ERA/HRs and high Ks.

Struggled some in 2023 and missed 1/3 of the season.

Still only 28 until end of May, grew up in Orange.

I’m not a big fan of rental acquisitions though, when it could cost a lot of prospect capital.
