Seattle Mariners: Morales and Saunders looking good so far

Plus the Angels needed a real left handed hitter.

Morales is only a switch hitter, in that he can stand on the other side of the plate.

I also see his body type, and plodding style, as possibly making him injury prone.

Wouldn't surprise me at all, to see him do some DL stints this season.

I fully expect Morales to have a monster offensive season. Safeco will deflate his numbers, but I'm still expecting him to hit 25+ HR's with a .850+ OPS

Just wondering, how do you expect Safeco to deflate his numbers but you still project him having a better offensive season then last year?

I find this funny since you spent most of last year wanting Morales out of the lineup

OK

Because I think his timing will be better now that he's a year removed from his injury.

Hope they do well.  I think Joe will benefit from that stadium.  And even though they moved the fences in, looks like it's not much of a change except for the Left Centerfield area.  Hardly going to make that place a hitters park.

Trout would've hit for the cycle last season had the new fences been in effect

MLB Network did an interesting piece on how moving in the fences in ball parks results in more home runs but ironically also results in less runs scored per game. They attributed the decrease in runs to the fact the power allys in the ball parks decrease when the walls move in so there is a decrease in extra base hits. Wish I had a link, it was a segment and not an article/interview.

how many full seasons has he played in his 6 years, again?

maybe in some magical alternate universe he should be labeled something else, but not in the real one.

he's only been a "major-leaguer" for 4 years.  in those 4 seasons, he played in 152 (2009) and 134 games (2012)

he missed 1 1/2 seasons because of one fluke accident

i'm hoping morales does well despite a big league history in which he's missed more games due to injury than he's played...which is a fact, no matter the vapid comments some halos fans make.

after all, even people like Lou and James are better than 99% of m's fans.

sweet...this new board does allow us to block mods.   :)

lol, thanks cez
