Report: Nolan Ryan could soon leave Rangers

"Ryan's title with the team remains as CEO. But sources also say Daniels now has final say over all baseball decisions and George the final say over business decisions."

Perhaps Ryan and Dubya will pool their resources with Wells and Hunter to buy the Angels to get back at Jon Daniels et al.

According to the Texas owners, the story is conjecture and there is no change in Ryan's role.  Title promotions, yes.  And someday Ryan, 66, will retire. Stepping stones are likely in order.  From down here close, there is no change in the structure.  Randy Galloway in particular has stretched it thin, almost conspiracy theory thin, to 'sell' his own story.  Not credible.  Water is still wet.  Air still contains oxygen.  And if Ryan's role is reduced in scope (on paper), there is a pretty good chance that his role hasn't changed a bit - just the PR perception.

Daniels is really good. It was quite wise for them to promote Daniels in November per the report. As long as Daniels is in charge the Rangers are going to be dominant force in the AL.

I always thought Nolan was more of a PR stint than somebody who actually bad baseball operation decisions.

Daniels handled the Hamilton situation like a class GM.

Except for the lies.

I guess in some people's mind a lack of truth is not a bad thing as long as it serves a need.

Whatever that means. Anyway, he's a great GM in terms of baseball management. I don't really care how my GM handles other things. He's done a great job in Texas and has made them into a powerhouse.

Do photojournalists purposefully take awkward pictures of Nolan Ryan?

Photojournalists take awkward photos of everyone. For every "good" photo you see published, there's usually 3 to 30 bad ones. While photoshop has really cut down the ratio, it's unavoidable.

As far as Nolan Ryan being ousted, if true, that's maybe the best news the Angels, and the rest of the AL West for that matter, could receive. Nolan is responsible for the Rangers recent success more than any other person. And they have been extraordinarily successful the past few years, despite their not getting the ring.

My vote would be for Daniels
