For the money ... I'm completely satisfied with Howie at second. Utley will be a improvement at third but too expensive.

Plus, he is well past 30, injury prone, and is declining, which means he is probably on Dipoto's radar. IMO, we need to steer clear of him. We have enough aging, overpaid, once superstars already.

I love Chase utley. I'd be stoked if the Angels could snag him and Cliff Lee in a deal. Of course, we have NOTHING to trade in the minors. They'd absolutely request Trumbo and/or Bourjos.

What's his contract look like? If its awful for a few years then no. If its reasonable for his production for this year and next then sure, if he or Howie could play third. He would be a great #2 hitter with Trout leading off.

Utley is one of my favorite players.  He is a FA after this year, of course. I can def see the Dodgers trading for him if they can get above .500 before the deadline.
