Angels still have a shot!

After this sweep of the Tigers, I have become rather optimistic about the angels playoffs this season. They are still 7 games under 500, but they have a chance to each 500 if they play 11-3 baseball until the all star break.

That may look a little bit to difficult for the angels but, looking at their schedule, I can easily see them going:

3-0 against the Astros (they can't be that bad against the LASTROS)

1-2 against the Cardinals (I think they can manage a win)

2-1 against the Red Sox (this one might be a stretch)

2-0 against the Cubs (this is certainly possible)

3-0 against the Mariners (angels usually dominate the mariners)

These predictions are a bit optimistic, but I believe they are possible.

Your thoughts?

If they sweep the Astros, then I'll start to think the 2nd wildcard is a remote possibility.

Just remember, we've seen this crap before. Remember the sweep of Detroit in April? Everyone thought that was the turning point and they would be up to .500 by late May at the latest.

Yeah. No.

11-3 over that span probably gains us 1 win on the division leader. At least one of Oakland or Texas will be winning at a similar clip.

If Vargas, Hanson, Madson, Burnett and Coello were here and healthy.

If Albert Pujols was the Albert Pujols we thought we were getting when we signed him.

If Josh Hamilton ever pulls his head out.

If they could get a good catcher that can hit and throw.

This team would be dominating. The potential is there.
