How in the world does Cowgill add ANYTHING to the Angels? (Or Bees or Travs)

 

We have Bourjos, Trout, Hamilton, Trumbo, Hawpe, Calhoun, Shuck, Long, Grichuk, Witherspoon.

Collin cowgill couldn't cut it with the mets organization, so he gets demoted to the angels

Yeah I doubt Johnson will amount to much, the biggest thing is the 30 stolen bases, but he's 23 in A ball which is kinda old.

I agree, Cowgill adds very little. Johnson at least had some upside that could've been used to obtain a low level pitcher with potential. We already have too many AAA type outfielders .

Well Cowgill was optioned to Salt Lake already, at least.

Yeah I doubt Johnson will amount to much, the biggest thing is the 30 stolen bases, but he's 23 in A ball which is kinda old.

 

He is slightly old for the league but consider more than his 30 SBs.  .308/.416 in a tough hitting environment with ++ speed and very good defense.  We might as well have released him considering the (lack of) talent we got back.

We have the worst farm in baseball.  Why are we dealing prospects who are breaking onto the scene for a guy we all know is a AAA player?

 

Johnson has the potential to be more than a 5th OF, Cowgill doesn't.
