Kevin Appier, Bobby Abreu, Jack McDowell, LaTroy Hawkins, Lee Smith, Ismael Valdez

These all come to mind as guys we signed on the very back end of their career. I feel like we signed some old Hispanic reliever a long time ago that I’m missing. Maybe Hector Carrasco?

Appier freed us from Mo and kept us in game 6 so I give him a pass.

Abreu was incredible here and had a huge hit against Boston.

Your other arms listed ranged from serviceable to pretty good.

Jose Conseco never officially played for the Angels. He was signed as a free agent in 2001 but was released before the end of Spring Training. Since players don't get paid during Spring training he never drew a paycheck.

I don't think he ever took an at bat.  I have a vague memory of him winning some homerun derby in that angel Disney uniform

He was none too happy about it, the way I remember it.  Didn’t he really start opening up about steroids right after that?

Gaetti wasn't washed up. His stats in KC and STL after he was released prove that. He just never wanted to be here, and only signed because they offered him the most money. Same with Pujols & Rendon.

I literally sat down the 3rd base line that entire season yelling “you’re washed up Gaetti!”  He probably has me and my friends to thank for the motivation to salvage the remainder of his career.

There are Gubi lovers?

Idk, there's tons of people who love him as a broadcaster. Maybe not here so much. Twitter and Reddit for sure.

He's fine. We can do much better. But he doesn't bug me. Then again I watch maybe a dozen games a year.
