Heard a couple more minor tidbits about the sale, but can't post them.

Based on the last update, it sounds like everything is in a holding pattern until they finish vetting potential bidders and release the financial info to them.

It’s not unusual in this type of sale involving billions that it doesn’t benefit anyone to leak any information until a deal is pretty much done. Of course, Lacheman’s son may have some update since he’s privy to all that goes on with the Angels.

Lacheman's son used his father as his source. Marcel left the Angels in the beginning of August. That well is probably dry.

It was sarcasm, probably bad sarcasm.

On the topic of ownership, I would think that at some point prospective owners would want to reach out to the city regarding development of the parking lot. That’s an issue that probably doesn’t come up in most sales but it could be a very attractive opportunity for the right buyer.

Of course, when you talk to a politician you are just asking for information to be leaked.

gotta be an item on the due diligence checklist and potentially one that could be a bit time consuming as part of the vetting process.  Agree that it adds a potential layer of complexity.

I just wish they would announce who is in the position of buying the team.  I don't care what the final price is, what the terms are, etc.  They could pay a billion, 2 billion, 3 billion, 30 billion.  As long as they can afford it, it's who I'm more concerned with.  Local guy, not local guy, hedge fund, corporation, group of people.  Once we figure out the who, at least we will get an idea of what their vision will be.

You should write a letter to Arte and explain this to him.

They would be better served asking the Mayor of Tustin about the new stadium grounds. All conversations with the City of Anaheim leads to lawyers involved in court.

Maybe.

I'm sure there weren't any red flags that the Angels picked up on in dealing with Sidhu.
