As with so many today hes in such a hurry to try to be first, he skipped the research completely.

Have you seen Parks and Recreation? The character in the GIF I posted is named Jerry, although you learn later in the series his name is actually Garry (pronounced Gary) but he never corrected anyone.

This guy knew exactly what he was posting. He's all about generating engagement and controversy. It's why he posted the fake apology video and yet didn't delete the original tweet.

I have to say.  This is a big fucking who care imo.  Jersey Jerry’s dumb ass video isn’t going to tarnish Mike Trouts relationship with the fans.  Sorry it’s not.  Better to not give this guy the attention he’s obviously craving.

The most likely part, and the real part. And I say this as someone who saw this sort of thing up close a million times.

First, memorabilia guy who takes his kid to get autographs is very real. And pretty easy to spot. (Such as who the hell gangs out with their kids in front of a hotel for hours trying to get an autograph...).

Second, and most important...

 

People severely overestimate what any of these guys "owe" them. Doesn't matter how much they make. They are like anyone else.... they are regular people, who have a job. At their job, they're subject to certain things. One is signing... and most do before games, at the park.

On their own time? They don't owe anyone anything. Especially guys like Trout who are swarmed everywhere they go. It gets old....

You pay for medical insurance. Doesn't mean you should interrupt a doctor when you see him eating with his family.

Also, FWIW.

This was one of the keys why Trout stayed here.... he likes being left alone. Not because he's a dick, but because he's a private small town guy.

He knew especially going back east this would be everyday of his life.

The goal is to generate clicks, the retraction always gets buried.

Don't blame Hanks.  He's allowed to lose it just for Chet's antics of late.  They can't all be like Colin.
