Exactly what I was going to say. That along with the WHIP shows just what type of pitcher he has been for us.

Hanson is the quintessential #5 starter.  5-7ip.  3-4runs.  prone to the blowup start.  lots of base runners.

 

Keep in mind that he's only made 9 starts the whole season so his sample size is pretty small.  He started the game with a sub 4 era and now it's near 5 so I will cut him a little slack.  A couple of solid starts and he's back to ok.  

 

He's been nowhere near as bad as Blanton.  If he's still putting up similar numbers after another 6 or 7 starts, then I will call for his head but for now, he gets some time to right the ship.

His WHIP was 1.44. He was absolutely due to get shellacked. He allows far too many base runners.
