Episode 5 of The Mandalorian was better than 4, but I think the show's writing team (Favreau) doesn't really know what kind of show they were making.  Are they doing a self-contained coherent story arc built on character every season like The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, etc?  Or are they going for a serialized, easy-to-consume-for-all-demographics type show?   Feels like the former rather than the latter to me so far, which is a shame.

I’m curious to see how it ties in to the original movies.

Netflix:  Nightflyers  A sci fi season that came out in 2018.  It's very strange, with a lot of moving parts.  It's kind of out of there, but it works.  Overall, I think sci fi fans will enjoy it.  Others probably not as much.

I think I got about 4 episodes into that before I decided it was shit.

That is the GRRM story as I recall.  It was interesting, but not that memorable.

Netflix:  Iron Fists and Kung Fu Kicks  A documovie about Kung Fu in movies.  Pretty much focusing on it's origins and evolution in Hong Kong.  It's really interesting how it evolved, and it's influence on America, and mainly Black America.  And it had Chuck Norris in it, so it's already better than what you watched.  But it's a great cinema history lesson, so history or kung fu buffs would enjoy this one.

I watched part of Once Upon A Time in Hollywood on the plane today.  Love the fight scene with Bruce Lee.

Hope to catch the rest of movie on the return trip.

How does it compare to A Fistful of Yen or They Call Me Bruce?

Watching Criminal Minds United Kingdom on Netflix

You will recognize some of the actors. Well written, good acting and keeps your interest. Good show. Too bad it's only 3 shows.

are referring to Criminal:UK? (David Tennant is in E1)

There are different Criminal Minds.  I think they go Spain, Germany, and France?  It's interesting how they do it.  And how you don't want to go to Spain and commit a crime.

The Good Place is terrific.  Binged S1-3 a few months back, and will binge S4 when it's done.

Just finished season 3 of the Good Place.

Can’t remember the last time I binged 3 seasons of a show in 9 days.

Now I wait for season 4 to be on Netflix, hopefully not long after the January 20 farewell episode.   I guess there won’t be any more Blake Bortles references in season 4 lol.

What would be awesome is if for the series finale, they get to the good place, and the actual Blake Bortles is there waiting for them.  And Danson's character goes something like, you wouldn't believe how many points you get when you are a butt of a joke, and just brush it off like it was nothing.

tonight is the series finale of madam secretary. this has been a very enjoyable series with well developed characters and good story lines. I didn't find it to be too terribly preachy on any topic politically. Tea Leoni has done a credible job as a politician/diplomat. not sure why they're pulling the plug on it at this point in time.

my wife likes to watch christmas movies on the hallmark channel, and i've been unavoidably roped into watching a few with her. several of the women have been gorgeous so i decided to google a few of them. found out three of their leading ladies have done soft porn/nudes. not sure i should tell the wife about this.

Too bad one of them wasn't Lacey Chabert.
