I had the same issue. Wasn’t so bothered by it with Pesci or Pacino, but it was confusing with DeNiro. Dude never looked younger than like 60 at any point in the movie. And so much of the film takes place when that character is in his 30s/40s. Should have really put some effort into finding a serviceable actor that just looked a lot long young DeNiro. Probably would’ve been a tough search but doable.

You mean something like using a young Robert DeNiro instead of an old Brando to play Vito Corleone?

Netflix:  The Irishman  Thought it was done in the typical style of most mob type movies.  With the typical actors playing the mob characters.  But it worked.  And now at least I know what happened to Jimmy.  It's a good watch if you are a Goodfellas/Casino type fan.

The movie is based on a book about the main character. Many people, and a lot of evidence, suggest that his version of the truth isn’t all that accurate.

The Irishman was good but my expectations were too high and I wasn't buying younger De Niro

I read a Ringer article today that brought up a good point. Even if the CGI worked well (which it really didn't) you still have a dude that moves like he's in his 70s playing someone who is in their 30s.

Exactly. It was much more about his physical presence. They should have used a different actor for the younger version of the character.

Movie:  Ford vs Ferrari  A great car guy movie.  I'm going to look up the backstory, and see what was real/fiction.  I thought it was well done, actors were great, story was intriguing.  If you have any balls, it's worth at least a watch when it comes out on cable.
