"Guys like this"? Saunders was an all star for the Angels. He has bad road numbers this year, but Angel Stadium is a pitcher's park. Shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who has watched the Joe the last several years.

Tonight's game reminded me of the Saunders/Greinke game from years back.

I don't think he's really this bad but yeah we should've scored at least 3 or 4 off him. Some of the swings against him were pretty awful considering his pitches are extremely average.

Saunders is "meh"...had one very good season in 2008 and nothing much after that.  Wouldn't sign him to anything more than a minor league deal if he was available.

It didn't matter who was pitching last night. Wilson pitched a gem so the offense took the night off. This is how this team works.

I was about to say the same thing.  Although Joe has never been a consistent ACE he has shown at times the ability to shut down teams.  Although if you haven't followed the Angels during his tenure you wouldn't know that.

Saunders not having a good year does not mean we should have shelled him. Even struggling pitchers have good, even great games now and then (er Blanton anyone) . Saunders pitched a good game last night. He also got a bit lucky with some of the hard hit balls going right to a defender-see Howie Kendrick's AB's.
