It's painful to watch, really. Saunders just toyed with him in that at-bat.

Usually cat and mouse refers to a relationship where one of the parties involved is elusive and the other is tenacious. Hamilton is not elusive and therefore pitchers don't really appear to be tenacious when coming after him.

Hamilton is like the Honey badger.  Does whatever he wants to his own detriment over and over without any semblance of a learning curve.  

 

Maybe the years of abuse affect his short term memory and every time he sees a pitch he forgets almost instantly what that pitch looked like.  He's the guy from memento except with baseball.
