Angels Announce Summer Concert Series Presented by Budweiser

They could have gone on the cheap and still pulled some more interesting acts together.  Dick Dale, for example, lives in Huntington Beach and probably could have done it for the same $$ as the tribute band. The Beach Boys could be gotten for not a lot of money since they are finally relegated to the Indian Casino circuit. A band like Grace Potter and the Nocturnals are getting big but still play events on the cheap. The Commodores are playing the County Fair Circuit.

These are just a few examples of acts that would be better draws and better fits than tribute bands.

Then again, with the Angels playing the way they have so far this season, maybe this is Arte's way of saying that the Angels are no longer a baseball team, but a tribute team.

The Fab Four are from Anaheim (or at least one of them is) and do a cheap concert every year at Pearson Park.

They are awesome, and the McCartney guy even plays left handed.

I bet the Angels could get them to come out.

Maybe next year if these two tribute bands get a good turnout.

Does anyone know what they do with the people who have seats in the outfield for these concerts? Since the stage faces home plate... I've been to a few concerts here but didn't pay attention (I was in BBMs seats and didn't have to worry about it). Trying to figure out tickets for a few games that have concerts after.

Katie,

When the game finishes, it takes about 15-20 minutes to bring out the mobil stage from the right field line foul pole area. At this time, they will announce that you can move from the outfield seats to any open seat that faces the stage. When I had season tickets in RF bleachers in years past, I would just move around the 8th inning. This will keep you from having to push your way through the crowd at the end of the game.

Hope this helps.
