If you like Maddon's decision or not about playing Ward, I like he has made the decision and has told everyone. Players, writers and fans know for right now Ward will be starting in OF. I think Marsh and Adell will platoon. I feel Rojas will be sent down and 2 relief pitchers sent down when rosters go to 26.

The 60-day IL starts on Day 1 of the season. (That’s why Canning is out till June even though the placed him on the 60 three weeks before opening day.)

The 10- and 15-day IL’s can be retroactive up to three days before the season

Trout, including a few DH starts (10?) for Ohtani’s road starts) should start 150 games.

Marsh, 135 games

Adell, 120 games

Ward, 90 games

I have never been a big believer in Ward other than him just being a versatile bench role player.

However I always also say I hope I am wrong about him because being better than that helps the team.

But now I fear the worst case scenario where Ward is not that great but juuuust good enough to keep Adell from being a full time player.

Ugh.

wRC+: 163, 143, 143, 138, 137, 137, 135, 132, 124, 123.

fWAR: 5.8, 4.7, 4.6, 4.5, 3.8, 3.3, 3.3, 2.3, 2.1, 1.9

Meaning, Ward's 2022 was pretty much a typical Tim Salmon season, right in the middle of Salmon's nine qualifying seasons in both wRC+ and fWAR.
