Vomit-inducing Loss

Recommended Posts

I think we all need to come to grips with the fact that this team is going nowhere.

Like many here, I was super annoyed with this loss, but then I realized that it doesn't mean anything.  We all keep getting annoyed by these progressively more disheartening losses but it's time to recognize it for what it is.  A team that just isn't very good.

Good teams find a way to win those kinds of games or the one on Sunday.

Sure we may throw together a stretch here and there where we win more than we lose, but the difference is games like tonight.  We haven't won those types of games all year and we likely won't.  And that is why this team can't get it together.

So we all might as well just try to come to grips with what is going to continue to be a very long and disappointing season.

Hamilton is the biggest loser I have ever seen. I think that the guy is drunk every time he goes out onto the field. I wish that this team would put a stamp on his butt and mail him back to Texas. The guy is a jerk.

But we all knew that when he was in Texas, right?

Such a sh*tty loss. I'll still be supporting these guys all year but they're incredibly frustrating to watch.

Hamilton is absolutely my most hated Angel in the past 10 years and that includes guys like Rodney, Guillen, etc. It's one thing if you're a terrible player who has shown consistently that you can't hit well at the major league level. It's another when you own a career .900 OPS and basically play like you could care less and not change your approach.

Sickening.

I don't get why people think it's up to Scioscia to get in Hamilton's face to try to motivate him.  I am not even sure it would have the desired effect people hope it would.  There is this thing called being self motivated.

Josh Hamilton is clearly going to do whatever he wants no matter what someone says to him.

Scioscia is doing the same thing that everyone on this board is doing and that is waiting for a primma donna superstart to suddenly snap out of his funk.  Frankly, it's all he can do because if Hamilton does so, then the team will win.  If MS benches him, does that help the team win?  Not really when Brandon Harris would be his replacement.  Would it send Josh a message if he get's benched?  Sure.  Would it make him play better?

As yourself this question.  If Josh Hamilton doesn't care, does it really do any good to send him a message by benching him?

Would we as fans appreciate that ?  Probably, but it sure as shit doesn't make the team any better.

Exactly why I'm not really upset about the loss. It's like...oh darn, instead of getting to 7 games under .500 they are back to 9 games under.

He killed 3 rallies with double plays today and K'd with RISP in the bottom of the 9th in a tie game. I'm sure a guy like Calhoun or Shuck would have done better.
