I started following the Angels in the 70s, so no offense meant to Dean Chance or those guys....

 

1. Nolan Ryan 1973, or whatever year it was he set the single season strikeout record.

2. Bert Blyleven 1989, facing his curve after Ryan's heater back to back, can you imagine?

3. Frank Tanana 1977, or whatever his best year was.

4. Mike Witt 1986, again with the heat followed by hellacious curveball.

5. Jered Weaver 2012, pretty solid fifth starter, wouldn't you say?
