Remember Griffey made the HOF based on his first 10 years with the Marinees.

After that his career was just a wash of injuries and  underproduction.

Trout has the chance to top that.

Here's a couple charts to put them both in context. 

The first shows the careers of Bonds, Griffey, A-Rod, Pujols, and Trout, from 1986-2021, according to fWAR:

The next one shows Bonds, Griffey, and Trout from age 19-29, which is Trout's entire career and Griffey's Seattle career:

This last one shows how great all of them were, but also how Trout has been significantly better than Griffey, who has really only had three "Trout-esque" seasons - at age 23, 26, and 27. Or to put it another way, Trout has seven years better than Griffey's 4th best season.
