This is what makes this team so maddening

They have played two very well played games in a row.  Why does this team not show up the rest of the time?  They took pitches, hit well situationaly, pitched well situationaly, had runners on the move, etc.

 

Hope they can keep this momentum up and compete the rest of the season.

Even bad teams have winning streaks and play well over a short period of time. Houston has won 3 straight games. Toronto has won 4 straight and 7 of 10.

This team has gone through several 3-4 game spurts where they look great then they roll over against terrible teams like Houston.

It's easy to sit back and say that certain moves were terrible after you have seen the end result. Some deals are obviously boneheaded (like the Wells deal with Toronto), but those are the minority. Baseball is the most difficult of the major sports to predict future success in, either individually or as a team.

this is not a good team that for some reason has bad streaks.  this is a bad team that occasionally puts together a few good games.

So according to you if you make the playoffs then you are good. All teams that miss the playoffs, are bad. Got it.

2012 was solid except for the first 20 games.

2011 was good pitching wise and bad hitting wise, and garbage for the last 17 games.

2010 was mediocre.

2013 is even worse.

Just would like to see one year in the 2010s where both pitching and hitting are solid.
