Mike Scioscia to interview for Padres managerial position?

Imagine if Scioscia never had Rodriguez, Donnelly, and Weber.

Don't get me wrong.  I give him a lot of credit for managing his bullpen how he did that year.

But he didn't build that bullpen.   He didn't draft Salmon, Anderson, and Percival.   Maybe his presence allowed the best or last best years of Kennedy, Spiezio, Fullmer, Washburn, and Ortiz.

Nah.

You people lost your minds 19 years ago.

Most people here were glad to see Scioscia gone, myself included. We've just had two progressively worse managers and our current one actively sabotages games with his decisions, so it puts things into perspective.

Revisionist history to claim people "put him on a pedestal".

We needed to move on, we just picked two shit guys to replace him.

Hell, Stoneman wasn’t perfect but I’d take him back.  Looking at a manager’s in-game choices is one thing (btw these folks know more about baseball than I do) but evaluation of manager and general manager should also be considered as a group effort.  The roster impacts the manager’s choices and presumably the managers use of the roster impacts future construction of it.
