Nice to see them adding to the braintrust.

Btw, this might actually be something a legit numbers guy like @ettinwould be qualified for.

Nice thought, but I haven't programmed in quite a while, I'd just end up making the Angels worse. 😄

The cool thing about that job description is that they're looking for someone who has experience with Python.  That's a tool used to create models through Machine Learning (ML). The cool thing about using ML (which is a form of artificial intelligence) is that there isn't any limit to the amount of data you can give it.  AND... it gets better over time because it continues to learn based on new data and that improves the modeling. I've assumed, but never knew for sure if MLB was using ML in creating their models - as opposed to traditional regression models which are limited in the number of data points you can use and as a result, prone to bias.

Careful, you’re showing your true self.  That’s ok for AW but it can dangerous in real life.

Maybe you should apply.

You know Python?

It’s a great programming language—in general, but yeah, it’s definitely popular when it comes to ML.

I don't know Python... I'm not a programmer, but I use predictive models in my work...  I just don't create them.

I just looked at the job posting and I have all of the technical job requirements except building native web/mobile apps. Haven't had any experience in that line of tech work yet over the past 30 yrs.

It's going to be hard for them to find a baseball nerd good with advanced baseball statistics and sabermetric concepts plus the vast technical requirements needed for the job.
