Gameday Thread: AL Wild Card Yankees @ Red Sox

Just starting this in case anyone wants a place to discuss the game.

My first note is that Vasgersian continues to have trouble telling when balls are HRs vs. just long flyballs.  He did it on Stanton's drive just now.

It’s so weird hearing Matt V call this game, and a bit hurtful for reasons I can’t explain. Also I’m jealous of those euphoric Sox fans…I miss watching my team in the playoffs.

He has a 2.84 career ERA against the Padres and has averaged 12.4 K/9 in 103 1/3 IP against them.  Even this year, he still has a 0.884 WHIP against them, despite the 4.55 ERA in his 5 starts.  He had 2 completely dominant starts against them this year, one mediocre start, and 2 bad ones.  I'd still love to see him on the Angels next year (though I think there's about a 0.000032% chance of that actually happening).

To be fair, Ramirez played pretty darn well for the Dodgers, and this is really the first very good year of Eovaldi's career, even though he's been around for 10 years.

Eovaldi has about 3 different wind ups and 4 different arm angles.  He’s a pretty saavy pitcher.
