First & foremost any utility player whether an infielder or outfielder, must be very good defensively! You don't want them to hurt you in the field.  Anything you get offensively is a plus. So that eliminates Upton as a 4th of'er. If he is still on the team next season, he will be starting in lf, and one of Adell or Marsh will be the 4th of'er. Unless Perry pulls off a miracle and finds a sucker to trade him to.

You didn't include Taylor Ward or got his stats wrong.

I didn't include Taylor Ward because I believe he separated himself from the players listed here. Also, he really only played the outfield, and these players listed here are primarily infielders.

I think the outfield is already set, with Trout, Marsh, Adell, Upton, and Ward.

The infield is not set beyond Walsh, Fletcher, and Rendon.

Or Upton plays 80 games in LF and spells Ohtani as DH when needed.

Still leaves 406 starts max for Trout/Marsh/Adell.

One of those is the 4th OF when Upton starts, and a utility guy is the 4th OF when all three of them are playing.  Upton will never, eeever see light of day as a late innings replacement.

Can Ward play a little 1B to spell Walsh and a little 3B to spell Rendon?

If so, only need one utility guy for the INF positions with Ward the OF utility guy.

He probably could if they have him work on it during the offseason and spring training. I feel like Ward's role becomes more pronounced if one of Adell or Marsh is traded.

I assume E is Gosselin although I don't mind keeping Rengifo too. I'm morbidly curious that he can turn it around.

Mayfield had a better wRC+ than Gosselin while also being way better defensively. Rojas was a little than Gosselin offensively, but not by much and he is still young enough to expect some offensive growth.

To me, you can move on from Gosselin because Mayfield and Rojas are similar options who have options. Gosselin doesn't have options, so you'd have to leave him on the roster all season long. That may take a spot away from a guy like Taylor Ward.

The team will have 3 roster spots for the bench. One outfielder, one infielder, and one catcher. If Upton is on the roster, that means Ward is gone, as he is out of options. Then one of Adell or Marsh becomes the 4th of'er. If Upton goes bye, bye, then Ward becomes the 4th of'er, who can also back up 1st & 3b and be the emergency catcher. Upton really hurts the teams flexability.
