Since there have been a number of front office/coaching staff changes already, I figured it was a good time to start this thread.

First, Angels "Senior Advisor to the GM, Major League Operations" Gene Watson left the organization to join the Royals as "Vice President/Assistant GM of Major League Scouting:"

Second, the Angels parted ways with "Minor League Field Coordinator" Chad Tracy:

Third, Angels "Coaching Assistant/Instant Replay Coordinator" Ryan Garko left the organization to join the Tigers as their "Vice President of Player Development:"

I remember when Ryan Garko was with the Indians and very early in his career (possibly rookie year), he was walking out to his car in the parking lot out front with his family.  He was walking ahead of his family, kind of in a hurry and his mom said something along the lines of... "Ryan come back here and say good bye to..." kind of like how a parent talks to a little kid.  He sort of gave a look (not facing his mom), turned around to make nice...

On a separate note... that seems like a big job and sort of a big leap in responsibilities, right?

It does. Garko had responsibilities beyond being the replay coordinator, but getting the jump to a VP title is pretty big.

Not if your resume includes working with the Angels because, as we all know, the Angels are known for their player development…

I think we see a a lot of turnover on the development side this year.  Minasian brought in a few of his main guys last year and my assumption would be that they've been doing their evals so it might be lower level stuff but I think there's gonna be more of it now that his team has had some time to process what they've got.  We'll probably see several people jump because they knew they weren't gonna be retained.  Then it'll be some people coming on board.  Just a guess.

For those of us that don’t follow driveline is this guy just a guy at driveline or is this someone to actually get excited about?

He wasn't there long, he'd done an internship then was officially part of the staff this past summer.  Basically it seems Alex Tamin snaked one of their new recruits but if the improvements the system saw in their first season with Dylan Axelrod around (also spent time at Driveline), a second ex "Driveliner" can't hurt.

Shohei, Alex Cobb.....  Driveline seemed to help them...  Flip side, no amount of Drive line work seemed to fix the issues between Andrew Heaney's ears.

i would poach from driveline like a m'fer, they seem to really be helping players perform to maximum ability.

Or possibly between his legs... the guy just didn't seem to have the balls for the job. If he didn't get off to a flying start he often looked like a child that had just lost their balloon.

If Albert Pujols retires after this season, how are the Angels going to address his second ten year contract at the front office?

The toilets aren't going to clean themselves.

On game days you’ll find Albert working at Oggi’s Pizza on Field Level. Come say, “Hi.” If you ask nicely, he may even wash his hands before handing the food,
