LA Times: Struggling Angels in it for the long haul

Recommended Posts

I would not prefer a Simers article. The article in the OP didn't have anything useful or interesting in it. It was entertaining to see how folks in the Angels camp try to spin an atrocious situation as the worst MLB in the AL.*

*The 2013 Astros are not a MLB team -- they are a AA all-Star team that deceived Selig into letting them play against the big boys.

I'm not even gonna read it... Tired of hearing Mike talk about how close they are to breaking-out, players talking about how so-and-so did all the little things while going 0-5 with 2 errors, and front-office folks "admitting" that injuries are already taking their toll.

I've pretty much written-off this season, cuz I don't think they can catch either the A's or Rangers... But, I love my Angels baseball so I watch or go whenever I can.  I think Baseball Mom (sorry if it was somebody else) said it in a different post about how even when our team stinks, it's still baseball; anything can happen and it's still fun watching individual players.  Plus, sometimes they'll actually come-back and win/blow-out an opponent.

Mike Sciosia from the Titanic:

"The ship was doing well and then one unfortunate incident creates some confusion.  Obviously things are not going as we expected but the crew and coaches continue to work hard while we are taking on water.  You just need to tip your hat to the iceberg and turn the page."

This stuff is as stale as Scioscia's post game interviews.

I give credit to the AW.com poster (can't remember whom) who said about a month ago that Scioscia does not use the term "championship caliber" this year, regarding his team.

He has ALWAYS used that term, even at time when he didn't believe it himself.

I think that is very telling.

"We just need to rearrange some deck chairs and we'll be good to go."
