It sure beats the keystone cops routines we saw earlier in the year.

People take defense for granted.  That play by Marsh looked effortless and yet, because of how deep Trout usually plays I doubt he reaches that ball -- balls in on the OF are where he tends to "struggle" defensively.  I know it's heresy to say this in the eyes of many but the best OF alignment next year (IMO), really would be Trout/Marsh/Adell, from left to right.   It may ever help keep Trout on the field more.

Tommy Pham ...  just did his best Angels defense impersonation..   A plus..  Oscar worthy performance.

If Marsh can adapt to MLB pitching like Adell has the last month, that outfield is going to murder teams with glove and bat.

My best friend is a Padres fan. He paid for tickets at the last homestand with the Padres and watched the Angels put up a ten spot. We were texting back and forth about the perfect game then Snell giving up the walks and then "Adell may break this up." Then, "He's their best player" after the two runners scored.

Then, "Well if the Padres can't get 3 runs at home off the Angels pitching they deserve to lose and fall out of the playoff spot."

It has been radio silence since. We might talk tomorrow.

Imagine how good he will be when “he’s ready”

Smartest thing they did was keep him down as long as they did.

Recalling Marsh over him because of his plate discipline likely made him take a much harder look at his approach too.   Now they need Marsh to swing at the good ones and let the bad ones go like he has in the minors.

Not sure what it would cost but I wouldn't mind bringing Lagares back for the 5th OF gig.
