Naughton bounced back nicely. A little tough luck that innning with a hard hit ball off Walsh's glove and a 2-RBI grounder against the shift.

Solid job so far, and of course home plate ump squeezed him on the two walks (five of the eight balls could have been strikes).

Must be nice for the Skanks to get a lot of ball/strike calls in their favor.

PN didn't do terrible. Only 3 runs allowed. Too bad he didn't at least go 5 but could have been much worse.

So, did we have even the slightest shot signing Cole?  I personally think it’s better to throw a ton of money on sure things than it is to sign a bunch of retread pitchers who end up getting waived or DFAed in August.

One thing I have to give them credit.  They are giving a lot of minor leaguers a good look. 

We never did that in past years.

Wantz was sailing along, only 15 pitches thrown with off day tomorrow.

Guessing it was to have the lefty face Gallo?  Don’t know of any other explanation.

Upton is now 12-94 since returning from one month IL stint.

Can they afford to give him lots of playing time next season, if this continues?

May have to give him the Pujols treatment after the season, if this continues.
