Maybe this off-season MIchael should cut down on weightlifting and do more aerobic and stretching exercise.  It seems every year he comes into camp a little bigger but certainly not fat.

I guess a good thing would be that he doesn't have as much mileage on his body thanks to all the time he's missed.... Maybe that helps in the long term.

Mid-case scenario: From 1.000 OPS to .850 next year, and a couple trips to the IL as he re-aggravates the calf or pulls another muscle somewhere. Every year after that he spends significant time on the IL. Five years in he retires.

Best-case: He returns to his previous glory (Comeback Player of the Year) but the numbers diminish gradually as his 30's proceed. He loses 20-25 games each year with various injuries. He manages to play out his contract but as a part-time player near the end. 

Worst-case: The damn calf never really gets well and he retires two or three years in.

At minimum it is a Grade 3. No Grade 2 lasts this long. Should have had surgery 3 months ago.

depends on the thickness of the tear, again assuming thats what it is. But a Gr 3 that is closer to full thickness than not is 6 months to 1 year rehab.

I know it is not at all directly related to the calf injury, but isn’t it time for Trout to stop sliding head first?

I cringe every time he does it.  I didn’t when he first came up, but now I do.
