Yep.

Detmers isn't going to be great, yet. C-Rod may not even stick in the rotation because of his health. How's the back injury going to affect not only Rodriguez but Sandoval? Suarez isn't really that good. Barria isn't either. And Ohtani is having a career year.

There's a lot of potential but we need to add at least one starter, and not a 1-year prayer. Trade for another starter.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I'm just sick to death of this Suarez/Barria route and am just ready to move on. Barria has been up and down since 2018 and Suarez the same since 2019.   I just think if we stick with these two it's going to be staying in the same place with the same few ups and then more downs. I'm ready for some different blood in there next year. Is there any chance at all we can sign either Gausman or Desclafani?

Just about every team has a Suarez/Barria combo these days so focusing on the #6 pitcher in the rotation is pretty narrow vision. The Angels issue with pitching has never been the production out of the #5/6 spot in the rotation.

Where the Angels fall over is really in the #2/3 spot. This is the rental pitchers that were risk reward choices simply because the "Ace" acquisition has always been a fight to pay more than anyone else and always getting out bid. So having no #1 option their targets fell off the table quickly and to be honest, the team has been a patchwork around the diamond and outfield outside of three players, Trout, Upton and Fletcher. We are still waiting for Rendon to show up.

Now that there seems to be solutions to the fielding positions (still need a SS next season) the focus can be on a Guasman or Desclafani or one of a number of other arms through trade or free agency. Going deep financially for pitching without a team behind them would have been a waste of resources. This is where final roster building comes into play, where starting pitching becomes relevant in terms of wins.

WTH, Cleveland has sucked for the past month or so, and had two crappy pitchers these first two games!

Did this team just quit!!!!

Ala 2019?

How do you £<#^ QUIT after a great comeback Thursday????

They haven't quit.... They've just went back to being the 2021 Angels.

The game isn't quite over just yet!?! Something could still happen!?

Otherwise known as the Eppler recipe that is rather ironic given his eye for talent at other positions. So, if Minasian doesn't want to get sacked as well...he would be well-served IMO to adopt a Costanza-like "opposite strategy" next season & sign a solid #2 & a #3 to give this team the best chance to succeed/compete/win next season. Not to mention it would help to break their perennial .500 cycle (that has/continues to plague this team) & would certainly/hopefully be a plus when the bats (sadly...more times than not) are at a minus.
