He wasn’t rushed.  Rushed implies we needed him up.  He was brought up to see if he’s ready.

He was rushed up to the MLB roster. The attrition of starting pitching through injuries and bad performances that cause demotions to the bullpen left the Angels in need of innings pitched. In no other conditions than this would Detmers be on the Roster in August with a total of 12 minor league starts, only 1 in triple A and only 60 innings pitched. Even Weaver had logged 22 games in the minors before being brought up and that was to cover for Colon on the IL.

Unless of course they thought he was ready and better than the worst starter on the ML roster.

Not a chance. Without injuries to core starters like Canning and Cobb, even the replacement starters C-Rod and Sandoval, Detmers doesn't see an inning until September at best.

I don't have a problem with him getting experience at the MLB level. It doesn't mean he was ready for promotion when he was.

He was in the rotation prior to injuries to C-Rod and Sandoval.  They gave him the opportunity because they thought he could get major league hitters out.  They don’t need him pitching in the majors, they want him pitching in the majors

I just assume all Angels injuries are the worst possible variant. As far as I'm concerned Rodriguez and Sandoval are paralyzed until proven otherwise.
