If you had to start a team with two generational players on the same team, who would they be?

Trout would be on all lists no matter what. Ohtani is the MVP up to this point in the season but so far this is his only healthy season so he needs a couple of more to be placed on the best duo list. I wonder if Ohtani's 2021 numbers would be even better if Trout was playing? It's crazy to think he's doing this without much protection in the line up. If Trout and Ohtani are healthy after the ASB we are going to see some really fun baseball.

This makes me feel sad, for some reason.

Get over the W/L and enjoy the game of baseball and you'll be fine.

The 90's (outside of the latter half of 95) was a fun decade for me. Having a good young nucleus of our own players like Salmon, GA, Glaus, Erstad, Edmonds, Molina, etc. come in and do well was exciting to follow, despite the standings.

Ted Williams. Tony Gwynn. Ken Griffey Jr. Barry Bonds never got a ring, but boy did they provide entertainment for their fans and for all fans of the game.

Manny and Ortiz? The duo is disqualified immediately. Yeah, they're the best cheating duo in MLB history. Probably hung out with each other 24/7 and had fun using steroids. I'll say the best duo is Ruth and Gehrig. They were both great at the same time for awhile. It's going to be hard for any duo to top what they did on the diamond.

It obviously worked out horribly... but Pujols / Hamilton should have been amazing. Then sprinkle in Trout coming out of nowhere.....

The triplets of Hamilton, Pujols, and Trout made a lot of headlines shortly after Hamilton signed with the Angels in December 2012. People were expecting the Angels' offense to be the best of the elite offenses for 2013.

Ohtani and Trout is a great answer, but yeah it saddens me a lot because there is a lot of truth to "Angels are wasting Trout/Ohtani" and this brings that to light.

How often do we see two generational talents often regarded as the best or most talented players in the game on the same team? Angels honestly owe it to everyone to get these guys to the playoffs and win multiple world series, it's a fucking travesty it hasn't happened already and straight up embarrassing that in the near 10 years we have had Trout, we haven't won a single playoff game.

Arte and the front office gotta pull their heads outa their asses and get some pitching. Need to build a team that can actually win or they will go down as the biggest clowns in MLB history

It's not entirely implausible to think Ohtani may one day be the GOAT, but right now he doesn't belong on the same list as the other names.
If you're looking at their value relative to peers, you have to go with Ruth and Gehrig, no?

This isn't based on career, it's on talent and production alone given what they've done for their respective teams in a given season based on WAR.
