I am sure this plays a part. The Giants expect to win. The Angels don't know how to win on a consistent basis nor do I even think they expect to win. Ohtani is starting to change that though, I hope.

lol

Over the past 3 full seasons, they averaged 71 wins per year.

They were also under .500 last year.

They’ve also won 3x as many WS’s in the last decade than the Angels have ever won.

Only three years of sucking? Must be nice. Why can’t the Angels bounce back after a decade of trash seasons?

But I guess good point? They also have guys that have won. Crawford, Posey, Belt, etc. Angels are just a squad full of guys that have never won anything.

Their overall winning percentage in the 2000s was .507

Hardly a juggernaut.

Sorry, meant 2010s

Either way, the Giants are a much more successful franchise than the Angels and some of their current players have won multiple World Series. There was nothing wrong with my original statement.

Have any of the current Angels players been key parts of winning organizations?

Rendon

Forgot about him. Well jeez, I don’t know what to say about Rendon these days.

Giants are my second favorite team too. I was at the NLDS when Gillespie (former Angel) smoked that ball off Chapman in the 2016 NLDS. They lost the next game though to lose 3-1.

How does a team like SF get what they're getting from guys like Mike Yastrzemski, Steve Duggar or Darin Ruf or even vets like Crawford, Longoria, Belt and Posey?  And a bunch of their pitchers?

Their pen is dog shit as well.  Angels and Giants have the same wRC+ on offense.  Very similar pen.   SP isn't that far off from one another in terms of metrics.  Yet they have the best record in baseball.  The big difference between the two teams is defense.  They're top 5 and we're second to last.  They're +90 in base runs and we're -10.  That's a ten win difference.

Is our defense really making us ten wins worse than we could be?
