If it was that simple, wouldn't they also give up a ton of HRs on the road?

Angels SPs have put up a HR/9 of 1.39 at home .vs 1.22 away.
Meanwhile Angels hitters have hit 57 HRs at home .vs 32 on the road.  If it was just Angels pitchers sucking ass how is it the Angels hitters are pissing all over the marine layer?

League data isn't just based on one team.  It takes the info for all those guys, compares how they do home and everywhere else.  They do this for every pitcher in MLB then compares those guys to everyone else and how they do home and away and in every ballpark.  They have to measure out every player in every park and how they do in EACH park because they don't all share the same AWAY schedules.

League/Park neutralized data exists so players can be more easily be compared regardless of the park noise.

Also, because you did take the time to look at the numbers you did check these out.

Same exact data only now it includes all of MLB and not just the AL.   It really goes a long ways towards showing how big an issue the free passes have been.

Thanks. Yeah, the league worst ranking on BB% is brutal. It feeds into everything else. I am not a sabermetrician, I don't know the components of FIP or WAR but I am a numbers guy so this is all good.

Lastly, I never thought you were "personally slamming" in this conversion.

It was a baseball discussion which is more than I can say for much of what is posted here.

I appreciate the cordial exchange.  I didn't think I'd come across as hostile or the sort but sometimes in my rush to be concise I can come across as curt.  I just wanted to make sure that wasn't happening.

And 100%, all the walks have been murder.   They've done a better job of it of late, hopefully it continues to improve.

Looking at Cobb’s season, so much of it has cried out #3 starter.

Take away the two 5 run innings earlier in the month (featuring lots of doink hits), and his ERA would be 2.70.

FIP is a ridiculously good 2.41.

Has only walked 6 in his past 4 starts.

Here’s another crazy stat: TWO HRs allowed in 49 innings.

Driveline seems to have really paid benefits.

The only concern is the sometimes reoccurring blister.

Otherwise, definite re-signing target!
