I get the feeling that even if Canning got the third out of the inning there in the 7th that Maddon would have hurried out to the mound and taken the ball from him, just to make it clear he was going to be making a pitching change going into the next inning.

Maddon's handling of the pitching staff is just the worse. 

I'm ok with the way he handles the rest of the game for the most part.
