Yep, I'm with you there.  I will say aside from the minor error I mentioned, he's been much better than I anticipated.  He seems more comfortable talking--maybe because Mota and Gubi are former players and not "just" media?  He always seemed pretty buttoned-up in interviews when he was still playing.

He's been a super fun listen so far.  Like you said, he's always come across all buttoned up, felt like they were pulling teeth to get anything out of him but he's offering a lot of really glib insights.

I always listen to the opposing team's announcers for at least a few innings to hear what they say about our team. 

Sometimes I'll switch over, but I usually find myself muting them. Now that I know we have ex-players in the booth, there's no way I'm listening to them.
