I actually don't like this move. There is something obviously wrong with Ohtani that his fastball isn't anywhere close to his normal speed. It could just be fatigue so moving him to an outfield position is just wearing him down more when he should be looking at putting his feet up. I know the Angels need his bat but they need him for longer than just this week.

Rojas / Ward kind of a toss-up.  But I guess Ward batting after Rojas plays into the decision.

They have to put the pitcher in the lineup to hit.  They pulled the guy furthest from hitting so avoid having to use a pinch hitter.  Watson is currently the #7 guy.

It really is.  Outside of winning, which the angels don't seem capable of, watching ohtani is insanely interesting.

Add in the always-present injury factor, so its like someone rock climbing without a harness.
