大谷翔平 - The Official Shohei Ohtani Thread

What’s the likelihood of Ohtani finishing in the top 10 in the AL Cy Young race?

For AL pitchers with at least 130 innings, he was 8th in ERA and WHIP.

Regardless of innings pitched, he was 7th in pitching WAR.

Finished the season with 156/44 Ks/BBs ratio, just over 3.5/1.0 ratio.

Pre-July: 60 innings, 35 BBs, 5.25 BBs/9 innings

July forward: 70.1 innings, NINE BBs, 1.16 BBs/9 innings, Maddux like control with more wicked stuff

The way he turned from hard thrower with mediocre control to complete pitcher, in just a few starts, was impressive as hell.

If that NY start was simply a bad start (instead of a train wreck), the numbers would be even more impressive

Is there any possible doubt who the AL MVP is for 2021?

Guy has the most amazing season since Babe Ruth from way back when and there's an actual debate about who the AL MVP is?

unreal.

Shohei Ohtani -- should be unanimous.

Cy Young? Shohei may get a vote or three.

NL Cy Young -- Corbin Burnes of Milwaukee seems to be the media favorite? How can that be?

Urias of the Dodgers is the only 20 game winner in either league, stellar ERA , lot of strike outs. 20-3 record.

The fact that Buehler and Sherzer of the Dodgers will also get votes may detract from Urias vote total -- but GEEZ -- any doubt that Urias is the NL Cy Young Award winner for 2021 ???

If its me, im not giving it to Urias. Hes been amazing this year. But I think Scherzer, was better. Bueller too, maybe.

Must be nice to have that issue on one team

It's also very mis-leading as it includes all the negative WAR taken off the team total from the likes of Quintana -0.9; Eaton -0.7; Pujols -0.7 and several others.

Except for the leaks in the number 5 and 6 boiler rooms the Titanic was on schedule to her New York destination.
