The way he turned from hard thrower with mediocre control to complete pitcher, in just a few starts, was impressive as hell.

If that NY start was simply a bad start (instead of a train wreck), the numbers would be even more impressive

It's also very mis-leading as it includes all the negative WAR taken off the team total from the likes of Quintana -0.9; Eaton -0.7; Pujols -0.7 and several others.

Guy has the most amazing season since Babe Ruth from way back when and there's an actual debate about who the AL MVP is?

NL Cy Young -- Corbin Burnes of Milwaukee seems to be the media favorite? How can that be?

Urias of the Dodgers is the only 20 game winner in either league, stellar ERA , lot of strike outs. 20-3 record.

The fact that Buehler and Sherzer of the Dodgers will also get votes may detract from Urias vote total -- but GEEZ -- any doubt that Urias is the NL Cy Young Award winner for 2021 ???

If its me, im not giving it to Urias. Hes been amazing this year. But I think Scherzer, was better. Bueller too, maybe.

According to fWAR, it was the 11th best season by an Angel in franchise history, behind seven Trout seasons and one each by Ryan (1973), Erstad and Glaus (both in 2000).

Apparently, Ohtani needed 141 innings pitched to be considered for a Gold Glove as a pitcher.   Same as qualifying for the ERA title.

15 American League pitchers had enough innings pitched for qualification.

Time to update the criteria, I think.

Should be 162 innings to qualify for the ERA title.  It's just 1 inning per team game, isn't it?

All pitchers must have pitched in at least 141 innings by his team’s 141st game.

Which removes Mccullers from the list.

This is kind of mind boggling for us old guys. 140 innings means at 5 innings per game a pitcher only throw 28 games. This seems like a pretty low bar.

This is extremely unusual for a baseball player.
