Just a quick note ahead of Ohtani's start against the Yankees tomorrow.

Who was the last bonafide SP, big strikeout guy we had? I feel like Lackey. I dont remember being a K guy, except when he needed it, but maybe im just old.

The next one who comes to mind is Finley... lol

Forgetting his bat. If Ohtani simply pitched, and was on a 5 man rotation. Hed be up there with the big name guys at this point.

Some player (and i think its somewhere in this thread) said "everyone is talking about ohtani, and we arent talking about him enough"

Ohtani right now, bat wise, is pretty much bryce harper... when harper was it seems like a lot more popular.

Not even sure who to compare him to pitching wise.

Combined..... yes. The sports world isnt talking about him enough.

I believe the color guy said...

"As the old saying goes... Hit ball high enough until disappear and also umpire tells you to go to second base"

Thank you for pointing out my mistake.

Tokyo Dome special rule
Q What if the hit ball is caught in a hole or gap in the ceiling?
A dead ball. If it is within the fair area, both the batter and the runner will be given ground rule double.

So, it was a double instead of a home run.

In Japan, "Ohtani-san (in Japanese katakana)" has entered the Twitter trend due to the influence of broadcasting (Big Fly Ohtani-san!).
"San" means a Japanese suffix, a frank and non-sexual honorific title.

For Japanese fans, it becomes a morning routine to see if Ohtani-san hits a home run.

The header of MLB Twitter has become a hot topic among Nippon-Ham Fighters fans.

I was actually referencing this clip.  Jose Mota is a nice man, but he says some funny things.
