These kind of stories are a little silly IMO.

Teams have “talks” about trades involving probably 100 guys every winter. 
 

One time at the winter meetings we asked Jerry Dipoto what he does when another GM asks about Trout. He said “I listen and then I say no.” So we joked that we could make a click bait headline that said “Dipoto willing to listen to offers for Mike Trout.”
