Maybe the dream was less than expected. Maybe COVID made a museum without visitors too depressing. Maybe lingering issues tangential to the  old job were getting in the way. And the commute really was pretty cumbersome.

Hes not exactly young... from the conversations Ive had with him, I imagine he figured out the clock is ticking... and that the things he wanted to do with his family are now priority over work.

And I want to say again here. He is by far one of the nicest people Ive ever met. Im truly happy for the guy in that hes finally hanging it up, and going to enjoy himself.

My first thought was it had something to do with the Skaggs situation. I’m not implying he knew or was guilty of any wrongdoing, but more of a situation where his name was going to come up and he, out of respect, didn’t want to have the Hall of Fame go through that.  Hence my “oh boy” post earlier.  I’m VERY happy that doesn’t appear to be the case. 

My thought too, we will see if another reason pops up. Eric Kay was his right hand man for a decade+ so I do not trust Mead at all.
