Give Dusty a break. He was a vital part of the 2002 championship run

This statement from Dusty Baker shows the Astros still don't understand why people are angry at their cheating. Saying they have "paid the price... leave it alone" fails to comprehend that not one sin

Would have been funnier if he took a jab at Dipoto, and said "jerry threw trash out there all the time, too"

Go easy on Dusty, he’s only lost eleventy post-season series going back to the 2002 WS.

I agree about parents not showing foul language to the kids.

The inflatable trash can on the field was funny though.   And none of the players were penalized for the cheating garbage.

This statement from Dusty Baker shows the Astros still don't understand why people are angry at their cheating. Saying they have "paid the price... leave it alone" fails to comprehend that not one single player was penalised for cheating: Altuve kept his batting title and MVP; Astros kept their World Series and the players kept their rings; no players were banned or suspended; none of the players came out and said "Yeah, that was a really shitty thing to do to fellow professionals and we're really, really sorry for the damage we have caused to the game and the reputation of baseball. We cheated and I'm sorry". The penalties the club received were pitiful compared to the extra revenue and kudos that comes from winning a World Series.

So, Dusty, allow me to educate you: the kids in the stands are being taught that if you cheat in life and you get caught and then pretty much just shrug your shoulders, the average American is going to rag on your ass big-time until you show some Goddamn humility. 'Fess up, man up and apologise, then take the beating you deserve - that is the lesson their parents are teaching.

OK, rant over.

You misspelled “apologize.”

Also, systemic and prolonged cheating that results in tangible unfair benefits is not "making a mistake." A man who serial cheats on his wife would get his nuts cut off if he said, "People make mistakes. Let's just move on."

With the obvious financial gain they achieved, we would call it fraud over here.

And BTW.  Anyone remember the last time trash was thrown out onto the Angels field in protest?  I do remember something good happening that season.

What are kids supposed to think? Really. Has lesson learning sunk this low? Kids will learn what they are taught morn. They will learn not to cheat.

No they dont, at all.
They never took responsibility, told everyone to get over it, and got off scott free for years of systematic cheating the likes of which we havent seen since the black sox.
The pandemic spared them the trash talk last year, but fans dont forget.
They think its bad now wiat till they visit NY or LA whom they stole titles from.
In short, STFU Dusty and take it like a man.
