2021 All Star Game and Draft Moved From Georgia

MLB "woke" up stupid today.

In 2015, Delta Airlines purchased a 3.55 percent stake in China Eastern Airlines for $450 million. At the time, Delta described the relationship with China Eastern as “long-standing” and an “already effective partnership.” To be clear, that partnership, which continues to this day is with the Chinese Government itself, which owns a majority (62 percent) of China Eastern stock.

While you are certainly free to opine on domestic political issues, it is the height of hypocrisy to claim Georgia’s revised election law is “unacceptable and does not match Delta’s values” while you continue to partner with a government that is actively engaged in genocide.

Far too many multinational corporations are too eager to make their voices heard on the woke issues of the day in the United States, but remain stunningly silent, or in Delta’s case, complicit, in real, ongoing atrocities in countries like China. One can only conclude that you believe standing up to the Chinese Communist Party would be bad for Delta’s business in China.

If you are sincere about standing up for “Delta’s values” you will speak out against the Chinese Communist Party’s genocide and immediately unravel your business relationship with the genocidal regime. If not, it will be clear that your Wednesday letter to employees was little more than a cynical attempt to protect your domestic business interests, the very definition of woke corporate hypocrisy.

Sincerely,

Without commenting on the merits of the bill being protested either way, it strikes me that this is hardly the best move. It punishes Georgians for a decision made by the state. Particularly Atlanta I'm sure was against it, but Atlanta is the one getting punished. It feels like sending a message to the wrong people, tbh.

Seems like if they felt that strongly about it, there would be better ways to resolve the issue: Like raising awareness of and donating to some group to enable more places to vote? The issue I always hear about is ridiculously long lines. Maybe focus on fixing that instead of protesting in a way that really does nothing other than piss everyone in Atlanta off.

If the issue is long lines than open more polling places and extend early voting.

Can't do that now. That was part of the bill.

The four or five prominent leftist talking points against the legislation are absolutely pure lies.

And the tip off is that it is “racist.”  Quite reliably this is the strategy the left now takes when they simply cannot honestly debate the facts.

Just grab the kryptonite.

And then lots of big business will cave because they simply cannot afford to be branded as racist.

It ends when honest people stand up to the lies and stop being afraid of the kryptonite.

It's racist to the core to assume that Black and Brown Americans don't have the wherewithal to obtain a free ID so that they can vote. Most everyone including Democrats were in favor of voter ID in elections. Conveniently now they're not and claiming it's voter suppression. I'm ashamed of MLB's decision to move the All Star Game out of Atlanta. In conclusion, they robbed Atlanta of millions in revenue over political pandering.

The law in question cuts down voting hours and polling stations so the lines get longer and enough voters get frustrated and go home. Incumbents win. It becomes a felony to provide a water bottle during the late spring primary in Georgia. The law also blocks the chief elections officer from canvassing and lets incumbents to protect themselves by deciding which votes can count. Give the ASG to Milwaukee. The Aaron salute would be just as valuable there.

Georgia was stunned by results of last election. So let's change laws in favor right wing. Against the law to give someone water but ok for existing president to tell elected officials to go find me votes. Was is that guy not in jail? Good for MLB. Storm the capital I'll be right behind you. Hang Mike Pence

You haven't learned that the GOP is far worse than the Chinese government yet?
