I think STL will give him a 1 day contract so he can retire a Cardinal.  They are not going to give him a 1 year deal.  Nobody is.

I still think he’s MLB caliber. He’s just not worth anything near his current contract.

I think he's at best a 0 fWAR player, probably below that these days.  For someone who can barely play 1B, there really isn't a place for him on something other than an MLB bench at best.  I think Pujols, who is most likely already in his mid 40s based on all those reports, will "gracefully" retire after this year.
