With Lagares as 4th OF Angels will have to drop someone from 40 man roster. I still think RF is a big question mark for this season.

Guerra was added and Reyes dropped. Lagares will get the spot of maybe Mayfield or maybe Jose Rivera who likely will be returned to the Rangers

As much as I am not a fan of Ward, and Lagares has looked decent this spring, I think they really need to keep Ward.

Lagares role will be as a defensive replacement for Upton, and to give Mike Trout a day off every so often. There are plenty of at bats to be had for a right fielder who can hit lefties and Ward is the only option with the upside to make that happen. He also can fill in around the diamond and be a third string catcher should they need it. There isn't a good reason to go with Lagares if the majority of his playing time ends up in right or left field.

14 pitchers including Ohtani

Stassi, Suzuki, Walsh, Pujols, Fletcher, Iglesias, Rendon, Trout, Upton

That leaves three spots, with Rengifo, Lagares, Fowler, Ward, Schebler, and Rojas battling for those three spots.   The key may well be which ones have options still, or likely be left unclaimed on waivers.

Appears now that to start the season, the roster of non-pitchers will be Stassi, Suzuki, Pujols, Walsh, Fletcher, Iglesias, Rendon, Rojas, Trout, Upton, Fowler, and Lagares.

Pitchers: Bundy, Cobb, Heaney, Canning, Ohtani, Quintana, Iglesias, Mayers, Claudio, Buttrey, Barria, Sandoval, CRod, and Guerra

Peters and Slegers likely starting the year in AAA, and Pena expected back no later than mid-April.

I added Schebler to the poll. He's had a pretty nice ST thus far and can play all three outfield positions.

I didn't think getting Fowler was a particularly inspired move, more of a "let's get another Maddon guy" move....maybe he surprises us...
