Angels fire Mickey Callaway, placed on MLB Ineligible List through 2022

Eleven days since the suspension, that’s a lot of time to spend on the investigation.   Seems like something wasn’t necessarily 100% correct regarding Callaway.

Why else would it be taking this long with ST reporting day just 3 days away?

Delay is definitely fishy. Either there's something sketchy with the evidence or there's money involved. Probably a bit of both. If the evidence isn't quite what it's been reported, they may be working on their PR as to how to announce Callaway is staying. I'd say that's an incredibly low percentage chance of happening, but given the delay I would say the chance is higher than zero.

I agree that there's a very slim chance they are figuring out how to keep him.  Maybe it's the way the halos legal rolls.  They do seem to be fine with slow playing stuff.

I wouldn't consider it likely at all (nor is it necessarily a great idea), but the delay makes me wonder.

It could be but MLB is involved so like the DH rule it may take a while for it to be fully implemented.
