Not really. 

The more salaries they acquire in the first 5 years the more they can then depreciate after year 6..   Arte did this. The Dodgers did this.  The Padres have been doing this.   It saves/makes them money to spend now.

New owner.  Deep pockets.  Wouldn't be surprising if he spent.  Cot's showing $146 before this trade.  Carrasco is $12 million, and who knows for Lindor.  According to Cot's CBT is $210 million.  So they got room.

Lindor will probably get 20-22mil.  Carrasco + Lindor will be about 34mil added.  If they sign Springer to 20mil+ .. I mean, they could add Bauer, but they'd already be at 200mil prior to adding Bauer.
