By Cuban Ohtani do we mean injury prone two way player that isn't very good at either unless he's completely healthy?

This is silly.  Ohtani was pretty damn good his rookie year on both sides and wasn't healthy, much less completely healthy.  He had a .820 OPS in 2019 while recovering from TJ surgery.

Instead of adding another 2-way player, what if Ohtani just practices throwing with his left hand a bunch? He can pitch right handed every 5th day and play the outfield throwing left handed all the other days so he doesn’t blow out his pitching arm out there. Or if he throws hard enough left handed he can pitch every 3 days, alternating arms, which would still give him 6 days between starts on each arm

I just kind of feel like if Ohtani is actually successful in both roles, there will ALWAYS be a "next Ohtani". Mckay was supposed to be the next great two- player, and while he's an ace or at least a future ace on the mound, he appears to be little more than a power bat off the bench offensively. Walsh got some noteriety as a two-way player, and there appears to be some talent at the plate, on the mound, he'd be more of a situational lefty or long reliever. Not the HR hitter and ace that Ohtani projects to be. Will Holmes shows significant athleticism on both sides of the ball, but he's got a few more years of development. Michael Lorenzen looks good on the mound and is a gifted defender in the OF, but doesn't appear to be cut out for regular hitting.

Colas didn't really climb the ladder in Japan as hoped. I won't hold my breath on the Cuban Ohtani thing.
