I'm so pumped for this!  Windsor is the next town over from me.  I'm all over season tickets for this.

Although, I don't think they're going to be affiliated with the Angels anymore.  Bummer ... but still will be fun to have some pro ball in town.  It's a pain in the ass getting down to Denver to see the Rockies.  It used to be easy, until all these damn Californians started moving here!!!

Cool! There used to be a AAA team in Colorado Springs, but they moved because no one liked playing at 6,500 elevation. Windsor is "only" 4,970 feet, so it shouldn't be much of an issue.

The Springs has a team in this league too.  The Rocky Mountain Vibes.  Their mascot is a s'more.

I can't help but see this as a bit of a ruse.

MLB might supplement the operating costs of these leagues for a period of time until it becomes clear that they translate into little if not almost no value to major league clubs that they can monetize.

It's a way to save some face on the front end.  And if no or few actual prospects come out of these leagues then mlb will decline to provide further support at some point.

MLB will parasitize any actual talent whether it's players, coaches, scouts, front office people etc and do so at a fairly minimal cost of development vs. what they were previously paying.

Hopefully, the numbers work out well enough so they are self sustaining.  Bringing jobs and interest to small and medium sized towns.

That s'more has a disturbing lack of chocolate.

Well, it is Colorado Springs.

I went to a game there in the summer of '19 to see the Owlz. They had a mascot in a s'more costume wandering around, but they also had their old mascot, Sox the Fox, from their previous team, the (AAA) Sky Sox (most recently a Brewers affiliate). I concluded that people thought the new mascot was so dumb, they kept the old one around. I've never seen that before.
